Where Is The Gift?

Meditation this morning was tumultuous before it was calm.

That happens sometimes. Spinning, whirling, churning thoughts and emotions. But I sat with them, letting them have their wild turn for a while and eventually I asked myself, "OK, where is the gift?" In other words, why is all of this emotion taking over so much of my space, there must be a reason and an opportunity.

I sat. I sat. I sat.

Then I saw it. Forgiveness. That was my lesson, my gift, my opportunity.
I had someone in my life I had not yet forgiven and today was the day for me to do it.
"I forgive you." I said in my heart.

And then let it go.

Ahhhh, such sweet and glorious release.
The churning stopped. The turning, spinning, whirling...all of it stopped.

Now there was room for blessed stillness.

When you are overrun during your meditation, ask for the gift and wait for it. Keep sitting quietly - it will come to you.

Today's meditation was about staying grounded. Lots of things are happening in my household as I get ready for my World Meditation Journey and I have to remember to communicate with more patience. Getting grounded helps me.
